Doris’ experiences as a member of the Sangamon County Board bi-partisan leadership team, Chamber of Commerce Quantum Growth Partnership, and other civic activities have prepared her to represent Ward 3 on the Springfield City Council extremely well. Her actions have resulted in a budgeting process that keeps Sangamon County government open and honest; a reduction in property taxes; the successful merger of the city and county health department; and an increase in services to seniors and youth that honors our heritage and builds on our future. Doris will work with the Mayor and Council to improve the city’s budgeting process, attract economic investors to Springfield, restore or remove abandoned buildings, strengthen the city’s code enforcement ordinances, address the inner city’s infrastructure needs, and ensure that constituents receive prompt and efficient city services.
