Chuck Redpath – Ward 1

Chuck Redpath, Ward 14121 Blair Drive, Springfield, IL 62712

Chuck Redpath, who helped usher in Springfield’s new form of government in 1987 as one of its 10 original alderman and served for 20 years, is seeking to get back on the council next spring.

Redpath would use his experience in law enforcement in the military and state government to help the police department “find the resources to fight the war on drugs and gangs.”

Currently director of security for Memorial Medical Center, overseeing a staff of 35 people, Redpath retired after nearly 28 years with the state. He had worked for 20 years in investigations for attorneys general, where he was deputy chief, and with the state conservation police for eight years.

He also was with the Air Force and Illinois Air National Guard for a total of 26 years and retired as a chief master sergeant supervising the security forces squadron.

Ward 1, which includes the Lake Springfield area, is now represented by Ald. Frank Edwards. Edwards can’t run again for alderman in the spring because of the three-term limit.
