Presentation: My Harvard Fellowship with City of Springfield
Sai will share the projects and progress during her 1 ½ years of a 2-year fellowship. She will reflect on the achievements and her work with innovation, community development, blight remediation, and economic development for the eastside. Including achievements around Build Springfield, Land Bank, Emergency & Disaster Management Policy, Data Innovation, City’s 1st Innovation Team, Dashboards for Problem Properties and Vacant Lots.
About our Speaker: Sai Joshi
Sai Joshi is a young leader in government innovation and public policy. Sai has global experience working in India, Africa, Europe, and the USA in international organizations, non-governmental organizations, academic institutions, and, presently, the US City government. As a thought leader and change agent, Sai has contributed to the discourse on inclusive governance, emphasizing the importance of equity and accessibility in public services. Sai presently works as a Bloomberg-Harvard Fellow at the City of Springfield, IL, formerly for Mayor James O Langfelder and currently for incumbent Mayor Misty Buscher. In this role, Sai has demonstrated a keen understanding of emerging issues, contributing to the design and execution of innovative government programs. With 5+ years of increasingly responsible experience at leading organizations including the United Nations and Harvard University, Sai has gained a reputation for effective leadership and delivering innovative strategies to address systemic social and economic equity challenges.
