Throughout his career, Brad Carlson has led efforts to improve life for the citizens of Springfield.
Whether it was coaching youth sports teams, assisting senior citizens reduce their property taxes, working to feed the homeless, helping low-income families get needed financial assistance or making voting an easier and more secure process, Brad was on the front lines.
Brad has served his community as Deputy Sangamon County Clerk, an assistant to Congressman John Shimkus, and chief of staff at the Illinois Department of Natural Resources. He is currently an elected trustee of Capital Township and works with the Illinois Senate Republicans’ issues staff.
As a candidate for Ward 7 Alderman, Brad wants to put that experience to work for residents of Springfield.
A 1989 graduate of Illinois State University, Brad and his wife Deana, a nurse, have two adult children. He is a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
