Jim Donelan has over 20 years of experience working with cities, counties, townships, school districts, and other local governments throughout the State of Illinois. He is presently the Associate Director of the Township Officials of Illinois Risk Management Association (TOIRMA). Prior to joining TOIRMA, Mr. Donelan served as Executive Assistant to Springfield Mayor Tim Davlin.
Mr. Donelan graduated from Illinois State University with majors in Finance and Business Administration, and has completed graduate work at the University of Illinois-Springfield. Jim has participated in numerous organizations. He is past president of Crime Stoppers of Sangamon & Menard Counties and the St. Agnes School Board. He is now serving on the Sacred-Heart Griffin High School Board, and Secretary of the Citizens Club of Springfield. He is co-author of Illinois Statehouse, an Images of America book, and is co-founder of a website dedicated to our present capitol building, www.ilstatehouse.com. Mr. Donelan is married, and has two children.
Jim’s Vision for Springfield
Jim Donelan will fight for Ward 9, in your neighborhood and at City Hall by:
- Working for strong police and fire protection,
- Working for infrastructure improvements and planning,
- Working for economic development and redevelopment,
- Working for a more efficient city government that lives within its means,
- Being available to residents and listening to their concerns, and
- Holding regular meetings in Wa rd 9.
Jim’s experience and leadership with issues facing local governments will prove beneficial in the future of the City of Springfield.
