I am running as Ward 5’s Alderwoman to continue the progress in the work I’ve done over the last 17 months since being appointed to Springfield’s City Council. Some of my priorities include, but are not limited to, Public Safety, Economic Development, Infrastructure Improvements and investing in the quality of our neighborhoods.
Since being appointed, I have worked to renew the Enos Park TIF, create a targeted TIF for residential and commercial development (Lofts on Madison), bring Medics First in as a new tenant to the formerly vacant Shop & Save building, and create a land bank to ensure money generated from the sale of city-owned property is reinvested in rehabbing distressed properties.
I’m proud to share that I’ve been endorsed by Springfield & Central Illinois Trades & Labor Council, Springfield Police Benevolent & Protective Association Unit #5, Springfield Fire Fighters IAFF Local #37, and AFSCME Council 31.

Purchase served as Capital Township Trustee.
The vacancy of Ward 5 falls within the 28-month window of the next City election. Because of this, Purchase will fulfill the remaining Aldermanic term that will expire in the spring of 2023.
